One of our members suggested putting up a post for people to introduce themselves.
This is a good idea and a topic of great interest to me, because one of the challenges of putting together Montana Patients and Families United as a working mutual support group, and as a political force (which is my hidden agenda) is getting to know everyone. Within, of course, the bounds of propriety and security.
So here's a thread for folks to reveal themselves to the extent they wish.
I'm particularly interested in patients, in terms of quantity desired and strains that are effective for their diagnoses, which means you might consider telling us your diagnosis...
And for caregivers, I'm really interested in knowing what strains you grow, what diagnoses your patients find these strains effective for, and how many patients you provide for.
And, then, you can let me know your thoughts regarding what breed of dog the Obamas should choose for their children to raise.
Or...anything else you want to talk about.
In short, this is a thread to give space for you to let us know what you might want to reveal about yourselves.

I guess we'll get it started. We're RMCC, or Rocky Mountain Cannabis Cooperative. We're in our beginning stages, but have been caregivers in other states for years. We're husband and wife, and I (the wife) am a nurse. We've seen so much as caregivers, and feel passionately about safe, legal access for all patients.
Right now, we're interested in meeting with other caregivers/patients from around the state to share information - and possibly an exchange of some kind.

My name's B, but you can call me Daddio.
I'm a retired entertainer and organic gardener who started growing my own stash, indoors under shop lights, in 77'.
About 6 months ago, mired in depression, it dawned on me that I might get involved in the growing part of caregiving. Since then, I've spent countless hours doing research and tuning some aspects of my lifelong method. I'm guessing I have decades more experience than some current folks and, while it's not rocket science, it makes a difference. Hell, you know how it is.
I'm an old school soil grower.
Anyway. This old house just doesn't have enough power to help more than one person, possibly another one later on. We just don't have the heat, it's upstairs w/no water . . . a lot of work for an older fart(57) . . . I imagine keeping things in sync isn't a picnic, either, or trying to.
Anyway, since lots of you seem to be paying top dollar for properly grown bud, I'd like to make sure you always get the quality of the price.

Could you expand on these different concepts?

Well, being new to blogging, it's my impression that blogs are more from the mind of one, whereas forums build on the thoughts of those interested in the whatever thread.
Blogs seem more personal, whereas forums welcome not-so-involved comments. I reckon sequential is as good a word as any to describe ideal forum thread posts.
Perhaps it's simply the difference between the way a network administrator would write a note, and the way a super experienced PC user would.
Maybe shoot over here to see what I consider a great growing forum. Just browse the "new posts" for years of entertainment!!

Hi Folks. Figgered I'd try testing the waters and answer the invitation to communicate. Too bad we all have to be so cautious. The laws are so new on the books, and we all have been paranoid for so long, it's just habit born of good sense to want to remain unaccessible.
Anyway, I think I may have poked my head in here once before, but being the novice I am, I don't remember when or where nor can I find it. I'm just sorta bumping around.

high, everyone:
I am a disabled vet living near helena. i am in the process of securing my mm card ... hopefully after going to the thcf clinic in zoola on 12/16. i suffer from major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder, among other things. i receive my care from ft. harrison va hospital, but, despite all of the meds those pill-happy folks prescribe, i rely on pot the most for immediate mood bouyancy. i can spiral down into an emotional hole that--without immediate help--i have great difficulty in climbing out. i will say, without reservation, that pot has saved my life on many occasions. without that acute help from pot, i usually face hospitalization, or--at minimum--yet another scrip from the va.
currently, i have no supply at all. i usually keep to myself, and do not have a circle of suppliers from which to choose. i have not had any product in almost a month. emotionally, i just have to try and survive on a day-to-day. i am in hopes that thcf will make a recommendation on my behalf for a card. i do suffer from nausea--probably exacerbated by all of the pills i take that are supposed to help. my equilibrioception is quite unreliable.
bottom line: i am excited that there even exists a mm program in montana. i look forward to the opportunity to grow my own plants, though i have zero experience in that regard. i will be checking this blog for tips/meetings when i get my card.

I jes thought I'd stop in here and see what was happenin' in other parts of the state.
I'm an organic farmer from the Southwest part of the state. Pretty well isolated from the "big city" conglomerate type organizational model. I provide high grade medicine to a very select group of patients. I have been very adamant about following HIPPA guidelines and indescretion in privacy matters is cause for immediate revocation of the patient/caregiver relationship.
I do contract growing for those that provide parent stock and seed.
My grow sites are not available for public viewing.

I have been trying to help our Vets out for some 8 yrs now. What i have seen with our young men fighting for our freedom is sad at least.
I have seen first hand how MM can help those in need and to get them off hard drugs, and give them hope of coping with life again.

I'm 42 male perm disabled with arnold chi aria - arthritis back n neck- depression- anxiety- gallstones- 24/7 chronic pain - migrains (24/7) -perm loss feelings hands arms legs neck. I am living with my grand mother ,i am on medicaid disability so moneys super tight but who isnt..what I'd utimatly do is find a care giver to grow 5 plants for me while I grow 1 (providing of course if I can find a clone or seed germinate) heard its leagal as only 6 plants total..Im thinking I can afford 150 oz once or twice mth but lower be dreamy..
would love here frome people wich strains work good for wich probs..

I posted previously as anonymous. I am planning to become a caregiver for multiple patients here in Bozeman, similar to what is being done in Livingston. I am curious as to how many patients are in need of caregivers in the area. As stated in my previous post I will be providing medical quality, well trimmed, 100% organic strains. I am not sure what prices are like for patients with caregivers, but they will be much lower than current market prices. I plan to be up and running in 4 to 6 months, I hope. My goal is to provide completely organic medicine, that not only works, but tastes good, and smokes smooth so to provide a more enjoyable way to medicate. How come the form requires the care-givers SS#.
I don't know about you, but my friends don't have that info and I think that's good.
It's bad enough that the cg has to cough up an address. It's to many patients advantage NOT to know where the cg is.
I know of cg's being pestered late at night, at home . . . F that!

That needs to be changed so that the patient gives the form to the person they want to appoint. Period. They don't want to know where the grow is, and definitely don't need my SS#?
I'll recover the fee from the patient and they'll never even know it.
As a careciver i have the patients fill out there half and hand it over then i fill out my half and send it off my patients never see my personal info. i do however give them my phone number we do need contact between the two of us. but the patients should never know where anything is done for theft and retaliation safty and no one else for that mater. a lot of jelous people out there

Let me start by that i realy have no clue how the medical marijuana thing works, other than what ive read in the past 2 days. Im not really sure how to go about getting it, and its is imperative that i educate fast. Im currently on probation for theft (not drug related) and dont get off till 2011. With UAs popping up all the time it would be alot less effort to just do it all legal. I have HEP-C and have been positive for it for many years now. The only thing that seems to help with the nausea and stomach pain, is a joint. Any information you could help me with, or even just kinda point me in the right direction. And FYI, Im 30 yrs old. Hello. I am currently a caregiver in Northern California and will be relocating to the Missoula area in February-March and am interested in continuing helping the community there.
After having debilitating migraines and severe nausea as a result of the migraines, I sought medical attention and learned that most prescribed drugs were of no benefit to me.
