Theft by police

OK, time to get a little political. (It won't be the last time, either.)

Hopefully some of you (most of you?) read the blog Daily Kos.

There was a great post today about asset seizure by police and the need for political action to put a stop to this legalized theft.

Read, comment...and write your political representatives. We can and must put a stop to this corrupt practice.

Theft is becoming a very real problem in the medical community. It becomes more common when the money gets a little bigger. I know of two thefts within the past year. Both were caregivers/patients for a very large dispensary in California. One was robbed of $25,000 in a amtrak station and the other in a routine traffic stop had some city police confiscate $40,000. They are still fighting in court to get the money back. These people were not arrested. The police looked at there recomendations and let them go after taking the money that they suspected was obtained through illegal activities. These incidents seem to be on the rise. Many police forces are losing drug war financing and the laws of the drug war are changing. Now the police are the criminals. Namaste

Don't know how to start a new thread, so thought this thread might be appropriate.
Turns out, if you use medical mar., or any mar. for that matter, and you also need narcotics, which most of us do, the feds have threatened the dr.s with their prescribing lic.I got this from my dr. who has moved out of state, and left the dr. biz. over this.
Make plans to kick your drugs, and pretend you can handle your pain, or plan on stopping smoking. The dr.s told me they have to ask if you use street drugs. If you say no, they will piss test you.The fed also tried to get the dr.s patient records, without a warrant.Threatened him.Dr. said I'm calling my lawyer. This got the feds gone from his office.Because the dr. said,"sure.look around",the fed said that that gave him the right to get the records.Dr. recommended contacting ACLU, as all they did was, and is, illegal.
No name, from fear of federal persecution

Several thefts have occurred in western Montana this harvest season. A couple have been reported in Ravalli County and a major armed robbery of a couple in Flathead County. Probably many more that have not been reported.

I heartily advise reporting these thefts to your local authorities if feasible. PPL I know have been able to recoup some of the loss with the assistace of their homeowner's insurance policy. Kinda tricky figuring how to classify the loss.

Be sure to have all your ducks lined up when they come to investigate because they will most likely do a thorough investigation.
