Vaporizers

OK, here's a topic we need to be discussing. How many out there are experienced with vaporizers? We are aware of plenty of docs who will not recommend because they don't condone smoking anything. But they often will recommend if their patient owns a vaporizer.

What brands do you folks use?

Any experience with this one?

I absolutely agree with vaporizers! One of the many benefits, is the ability to use the medicine for cooking AFTER it's been vaporized! The only thing I'd recommend, is bring along literature (that's credible) that your physician can look at. This is going to be a new thing to them, and they may not be willing to believe it, unless they have the information in front of them. Please keep in mind that most people are afraid of what they don't understand. We just have to help them understand...

It's not that your doctors ALL want to ignore the benefits of medicine, it could just be that they're not aware of the options available for patients today.

I prefer the volcano, although a little more expensive... well worth the money. Gotta love that German engineering!

do all cannibinoids evaperate at the same temperature? What canabinoids would remain in vaporized medicine?

I own a volcano. One of the better vapes, most I have tried work. So those that dont want to fork out 5-600 bones for a volcano have lots of options in the 60-200 range.Rich

I think you can also buy vaporizers for a discounted price on e-bay. Valcanos for around 300.

I had a bad experience trying to order from vaporizergiant.com. Kept getting cut off, and then the woman answering told me she had 10 people on hold. Well, hire some additional staff if you're that busy!

I ordered an Extreme directly from the manufacturer, http://www.arizer.com/,and I was astounded to receive it (from Canada!) two days later.

No reports yet on how it works. (It's a gift...still to be given.)

I started out with the old globe type.Bought 5 of em.Some worked for awhile, others only worked once, so I had a pile of parts.I don't recommend this type. The co. owed me parts, and was gonna get em to me, but they were one of the glass shops, that went down, right after the vote.Doubt the feds will honor my parts replacement.LOL.I used the extra parts to make bongs, and such.I fell asleep a few times, with it still running. Not a good thing.Came close to a seriuos problem. Now, if I'm vaping in bed, I use an old timer, as a fail safe.I don't recommend smoking in bed, as we all know, it isn't safe.Timer helps with this.Just don't forget.Set it up, so's it won't work, without going through the timer.
I got a Vaporite at the hempfest, for $80.Last one of 18 he sold, that day. Also got a real good metal tipped grinder, for only $15.These are usually much more spendy.Best one I have had.The hash collector in the bottom doesn't do much good, as the holes are too small, and I have to turn it upside down, to beat the goods out.
I was under the impression that the Volcanoes were banned from import, about a year ago.Might not be a bad idea to stock up on parts.
My Vaporite is the box type.Seems to work good.I've never had the pleasure of using a Volcano.Mine uses lung pressure, to make it work.Less moving parts, less to go to crap.
What do folks do with there duff, unburnt medicine?I've smoked it, and it's differant, as some of the goodies vape at differant temps, so you get a toally differant affect.I find that using a vape gets me very medicated.More so than smoking, but doesn't seem to last as long.Another problem is I can't put in a small enough dose.I want to stop, before the vape does.I'm a fairly light smoker.Huge eater.Only really been medicated twice, by butter, and it was heavy.More than comfortable.I had to drive, and it was not safe.Be careful, if it's your first time eating.Wait at least an hour, or more, before eating more.I find it takes me a 1/2 oz. of sugar leaf trim, to give me that affect.Throwing my duff in my food will do me no good, and making oil out of it makes it taste like ass.I like to shake out as much kief as possible out of dried, frozen, sugar leaf trim, then make iso oil, then add my kief to it, when it is still warm in the evap. bowl. You can get alot of kief in by repeated working it.Tastes much better, and is easy to handle, and lasts along time. You get every bit of goodies, from solvents.I only shake my first batch for about a minute.Next batch, a couple minutes.Don't want to melt the waxy coating from the leaves.
On another note.I have a couple friends who have the old ISO 2 machines.Supposed to change the thc 9, into 7, or something along those lines.I could never find a good recipe, that didn't take a chemists talents.Use sulphuric acid, and such. These are collectors items. One, maybe both are for sale. These would look great, sitting on the counter, of a cali. dispensory. You can somehow make hash oil with em, but I've never figured it out, and all the manuals are gone.If anyone has an original direction pamphlet, I would be interested. This is along the idea of the BUDDER, they have in Canada.Google budder king. The whole story was in that article.

Patients and Families United has a chance to become a dealer for Vapor Extreme at a nice price. (They list for $299, we could sell them for $229 and make a little money to put into lobbying or some other beneficial activity.)

How many folks might be interested?

back in the '70s I had a reggae band staying with me in Denver and they introduced me to a Jamaican Steam Pipe made from Bamboo and a V-8 tomato juice can that did essentially the same thing as these vaporizers. I have constructed several myself and anyone half assed handy can build one for less than $10. If you would like plans/instructions please email me and I would be glad to help out. I can also answer any questions regarding Iso-2 machines as I have used them alot.
