I guess I blew it by not mentioning the Capitol event on the blog, but I figured everyone was on the mailing list in which case you got the announcement.

If you aren't on the mailing list, please write me at info at mtpfu.org to be added to the list.

Okay Everybody…gather ’round, get comfortable, light up the pipe, and pay close attention, ’cause we need to get some things straight.

Most of you have noticed, I’m sure, that most of everything connected with Initiative 148 has turned upside down and backwards. The legislators had some very helpful ideas in mind when they enacted 148, but unfortunately their best intentions have been thrown back in their faces, and, as always, those who would prey off the best intentions of those who are trying to help have swooped in on Montana’s Medical Marijuana Community, using the regulations to their own advantage.

Let’s start with the patients. They, after all, are who the whole program is for. But you wouldn’t know it to listen to (some of) the caregivers. One would think this entire setup exists only for them. They have tried to take control, write their own rules, impose their wishes on the patients, insist the patients do things their way, and generally intimidate the hell out of them.

Listen all you patients out there–don’t forget–THIS ENTIRE PROGRAM IN ALL IT’S ASPECTS WAS ENACTED FOR YOU–FOR YOU!!! Not for the Goddamn caregiver!!! The caregiver is there for one reason, and one reason only–to serve YOU. He is there to find out what helps your symptoms best, to make sure you get it, to make sure it is good quality, and eliminate any problems confronting you when it comes to your supply. He has no right whatever to place any demands on you, expect anything from you (except for the information he needs to assess how best to help you), to confound you, argue with you, guilt trip you, pressure you, insist on having his own way, or in short do anything but SERVE YOU!!! He is nobody in this community. Nobody. He is the gardener, the courier, the delivery boy, the receptionist, the gopher, the box boy. He takes orders, notes your preferences, ships to you, accepts your returns, gives you your money back if he does not do what you ask or sends you crappy product, and does NOT argue with you!!! He is here for only one reason (need I say it yet again?): To be YOUR CAREGIVER!! That means he cares for you.

Has he asked what your symptoms are? Has he asked you what other medications you are taking? Has he asked you if you have had any problems taking MMJ? If he fills an order for you, does he check with you to make sure it is helping? In short, does he give a shit? Or does he spend his time telling you how great he is, how his is the best stuff around, and why you should have him as your caregiver? If you are getting a sales pitch–RUN! He is not interested in you, he is interested in himself. He won’t be helping you, he will be helping himself, because his whoe game is to sell you his product, not to address your symptoms.

If you decide to change caregivers, it is because you think you will do better with a different caregiver. He should be on your side. He should wish you all the best, because it means you will improve your situation. He has no business trying to sell you something you can’t use. If he isn’t taking care of you, he is not doing what the legislatures intended. Kick him to the curb. If he is a person of integrity he will not want your money if he isn’t helping you. And the legislatures don’t want you giving him your money.

That’s it my children. Straight from the heart of The Old Man himself. Don’t forget–I am a caregiver, and I am sad to say I am ashamed and disgusted. We should be a noble breed, instead of a bunch of parasites. But like any profession, there are a few truly good ones out there. By and large we are a putrid carrion pile, but not all…not all. Hopefully this unabashed tirade will give you some clues as to what to look for.

Love Ya Madly,

CrestRyder

To see who voted Yes and who voted NO to SB 326 earlier in 2009.

Crest Ryder, your past caregiver(s) really screwed you over BAD.

I dont ask those things because my position as a caregiver is to provide TOP CALIBER medical cannabis to my patients, not be their doctor. THEY know if it is helping them or they would stop purchasing it.

Give me a shout and I can show you how a real caregiver provides medicine of medicinal quality every time.

We need to revive the blog. I think there is info that can be traded between patients and caregivers that could help our fellow patients be better informed. Please bring the blog back to life. We need somewhere to speak freely to each other about issues going on in the Medical Marijuana world.
